HONOLULU (HI Now) - History returned to the University of Hawaii at Manoa with music, food and community pride.

For the first time ever, the Bachman Lawn hosted a live homecoming concert, bringing students, alumni and neighbors together for a free and open celebration. The afternoon kicked off with a headlining set from Natural Vibrations setting the tone for Rebel Souljahz to close out the night.

The moment marked a new chapter for newly minted Manoa Chancellor Vassilis Syrmos, who has called Manoa home for 35 years.

After 15 years without a homecoming event at Manoa, the return to this central corner of campus felt intentional, welcoming and full of pride in students, employees and alumni who continue to shape the state.
