HONOLULU (HI Now) - Freedom, joy and belonging take center stage when Big Freedia headlines Honolulu Pride.
Known to fans as the Queen Diva, the larger than life ambassador of New Orleans, Bounce music has built a career on creating spaces where everyone can come as they are, dance hard and feel fully seen. Her shows are loud, loving and full of heart, with a message rooted in racial and gender equality and LGBTQ rights that resonates far beyond the stage.
October 15 marks her first time playing Honolulu Pride, and she brings that signature high energy dance party to the Hawaii Theatre.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m. Fans can expect an uplifting night of bounce beats, powerhouse vocals and nonstop movement that turns the historic venue into a full celebration of community.
Freedia continues to push musical boundaries with new releases that span hip hop, dance and gospel. Her recent collaborative project Released At Last features the late visionary producer SOPHIE, while her June 2023 album Central City blends old school hip hop, brass marching bands and futuristic production.
