HONOLULU (HI Now) - For Edwin Rivera, a Los Angeles-based Latin DJ, producer and dancer, the 34th Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival and Health Fair is a chance to bring people together through music and culture.
Rivera will serve as the festival’s master of ceremonies as Hispanic Events Hawaii celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a day of performances, food and family activities.
The festival takes place Saturday, October 10, from noon to 10 p.m. at AMVETS West Oahu, 5001 Iroquois Avenue. Guests can enjoy Puerto Rican selections from Fusion Jibara, a trio playing cuatro, guitar and güiro, along with performances by Los Granaderos, Ballet Folklórico Costa de Oro, Eddie Ortiz and the Son Caribe Band, and more.
The event also features food booths, cultural displays, a vintage car display and activities for children.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit AMVETS West Oahu and scholarships for local youth.
