HONOLULU (HI Now) - For 46 years, the Hawaii International Film Festival has brought the world to Hawaii through stories that connect cultures across the Pacific Rim.
This year, that connection grows even deeper as film lovers, creators and curious newcomers gather to celebrate powerful storytelling and the people who bring it to life.
The festival presented by Halekulani runs October 21 to November 5 on Oahu, then continues through November 15 on Maui, Molokai, Lanai and Hawaii Island. This year HIFF will screen 84 feature films and 86 short films, including 34 world premieres, 12 U.S. premieres, 6 North American premieres and 3 international premieres.
Alongside the films, HIFF presents the second annual HIFILM Industry Conference October 24 to 25 at Chaminade University in Honolulu. The two day gathering welcomes filmmakers, producers, executives and fans for panels, workshops and networking with guests including Maui raised Destin Daniel Cretton, Dana Ledoux Miller, Walter Hamada, Holt McCallany, Henry Ian Cusick, Alex Tarrant, Amy Hill and more.
The conference is open to everyone, whether you work in film and television or simply love watching it. Passes for both days are 125 dollars, and spots are going fast.
