HONOLULU (HI Now) - Across Hawaii, patients and survivors navigate demanding treatments, making community care and comprehensive wellness essential pillars of their journey. Finding ways to improve daily comfort during recovery, from doctor-approved complementary practices to shared community gatherings, empowers individuals to thrive beyond a diagnosis.

Local wellness advocates are stepping forward to highlight how simple physical care can support treatment side effects. Adam Bogucki of StretchLab Hawaii notes that assisted stretching and targeted compression therapy can help ease muscle tension and improve circulation after chemotherapy.

While these complementary routines do not cure cancer, consulting with an oncologist to incorporate gentle bodywork can significantly lift daily quality of life and restore a sense of physical balance.

The annual Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk returns to Kapiolani Park on Sunday, October 11, bringing together survivors, supporters, and advocates for an uplifting morning outdoors. Participation is completely free, making it easy for friends and families to plan ahead, walk side by side, and show solidarity for local warriors.
