HONOLULU (HI Now) - Connecting island culture with community passions creates meaningful spaces where families, collectors, and youth can learn and trade together.
Keep It Aloha Events was built around meeting the community where culture is at, turning a shared love for trading card games and local lifestyle into opportunities for mentorship and connection. Through hands-on activities, founders Kamaka Dias and Faith Rogers are showing keiki that collecting can be both a creative outlet and a foundation for financial literacy.
The Keep It Aloha Card Show returns for round six at SALT at Our Kakaako on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4. The weekend celebration features more than 50 trading card vendors alongside bulk trade-in options for collectors looking to swap or upgrade their decks.
Families can also take advantage of validated parking, balloon twisting, face painting, glitter tattoos, make-it-take-it candy lei, and a special Keiki Corner Cardboard Classroom that uses Pokemon cards to teach practical money skills. On Sunday, HiKendama and The Hawaii Kendama Club will host interactive kendama sessions for all skill levels.
The excitement continues with the debut of the TCG Night Market at Pearl at Kalauao in Aiea on Wednesday, October 14, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. This free-admission evening gathering brings together more than 100 local vendors, delicious food and drink options, bulk trade-in tables, and family-friendly activities under the evening lights.
