UTOPIA Hawaii is bringing this mission to the stage by honoring the rich history of Pacific Islander communities through dance, storytelling, and self-expression. By reclaiming these cultural spaces, the organization ensures that diverse MVPFAFF and LGBTQIA identities are celebrated and uplifted.
The historic Hawaii Theatre will host the first annual Miss Showgirl of the Pacific Pageant on September 25. This spectacular evening will feature contestants competing in swimwear, eveningwear, question and answer, talent, and showgirl categories.
Attendees can also enjoy a free pre-show gathering in Sun Yat-sen Park from four to ten in the evening, making it a perfect community celebration. Student and kupuna tickets start at just $10, ensuring the event is accessible to everyone.
The grand prize winner will receive $5,000 in cash along with a sponsorship package to compete in the Miss Island Goddess Pageant in Seattle. Beyond the stage, UTOPIA Hawaii serves the community year-round through traditional dance performances, floral donations, and crucial support services.
