HONOLULU (HI Now) - Singer and songwriter Tanama represents this spirit as one of the newest artists chosen for the Henry Kapono Foundation On the Rise program. Drawing from jazz, soul, and world influences, Tanama sings in five languages and creates songs that celebrate cultural projects like Kahoʻolawe and Wailuku.
This artistic journey highlights how supporting local talent can preserve cultural stories and foster deep community connections.
Tanama will perform live during the Pau Hana with a Purpose event at Kapono’s at the Lounge, located in the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center. Happening on Friday, August 28, doors open at 5 p.m. followed by live music from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the event support the foundation’s mission to uplift local artists and cultivate the next generation of musical talent.
