HONOLULU (HI Now) - Sharing traditional music in historic spaces directly funds the preservation of Hawaiian cultural sites and native ecosystems.
Proceeds from the evening directly benefit Hiʻipaka LLC, the non-profit organization dedicated to restoring historical cultural sites, caring for the botanical gardens, and expanding Hawaiian cultural programming for everyone to experience.
The stage is set for a celebration on Saturday, August 29, featuring some of Hawaii’s most beloved musical talents. Acclaimed artists Jon Yamasato and Herb Ohta Jr. will share their beautiful melodies alongside Mark Yamanaka, Norm Thompson, and Hālau i Ka Lima Kuhi Lani under the direction of Nā Kumu Hula TC and Kuhi Southard.
With legendary emcee Kimo Kahoano hosting the evening, the concert brings the community together for a night of mele and storytelling starting at 4 p.m.
