From toddlers to teens, Sacred Hearts Academy inspires next generation women leaders

HONOLULU (HI Now) - Providing girls with a nurturing space to build confidence and community leadership from a young age is essential for their long-term development. Sacred Hearts Academy, Hawaii’s largest all-girl Catholic school, is expanding its historic preschool program in Kaimuki to welcome children as young as two years old starting this September.

This early-learning environment features a specialized, faith-based curriculum led by educators in world languages, art, music, physical education, and hula. Parents can take advantage of extended care options until late afternoon, along with enriching activities like gardening and youth basketball.

As students grow, transitioning into the teenage years requires strong academic and personal support. The academy’s middle school program centers on project-based learning and daily core classes to ensure a smooth transition into high school.

The curriculum is designed to help young girls find their unique voices while offering exciting public events like Paniolo Paina on August 22 and Fright Night on October 17. These attendable community gatherings allow local families to experience the school’s collaborative culture firsthand.

For high schoolers, the focus shifts toward college preparation and career readiness. With a remarkable 100 percent college acceptance rate, the high school curriculum sets students up for academic success through its competitive Early College Program. This initiative allows high school students to earn college credits and transition seamlessly into higher education.
