The first ever outbreak of canine influenza has happened in August this year. Canine influenza is a highly contagious virus that affects dogs and has been reported in cats as well. It can cause coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, and in severe cases, pneumonia and life threatening illness requiring intensive care.
