HONOLULU (HI Now) - Summer in Waikiki is just right when the plans are easy, the views are nice, and the fun invites everyone. Prince Waikiki is leaning into the season with a lineup of free, feel good experiences that turn a regular weeknight into a full-on memory. Plus special events that make staycations and nights out way too tempting.

Prince Waikiki is Waikiki’s only Four Diamond, all ocean view hotel, and they want you to experience it beyond the lobby. Think curated events that bring locals and visitors together, award-winning dining that turns into your pre-show ritual, and a setting that makes even a quick pop-in feel like you are on vacation.

First up, your new midweek tradition. Prince Waikiki is hosting free movies every Wednesday on the pool deck in partnership with the Hawaii International Film Festival, running through August 5. Movies start around 7 PM, and some nights even include a short film plus a Q&A with cast members or the short film’s producer or director. It is completely free for hotel guests and the public, so you can turn it into a casual hang or a full date night with a Waikiki backdrop.

And if your perfect summer night includes food, fireworks, and a little wonder, Fridays bring another reason to stay out. On most Fridays throughout June and July, Prince Waikiki teams up with Stargazers of Hawaii for free stargazing that is also open to the public. Jeremy Yagong recommends making a night of it with dinner at 100 Sails or Hinana Bar, then catching the Friday night fireworks, and sticking around to look up at the sky. Bonus, Hinana Bar’s new menu is available seven days a week, with favorites like poke nachos, coffee rubbed ribeye cut pupu style, and a chilled seafood tower.

Tickets are $30 each, or grab the combo for $50 for both concerts. Expect a bourbon, brews, and BBQ theme with specials on Jack Daniels, buckets of Heineken, and an in-house smoked menu. The menu features kiawe brisket, BBQ pork ribs, beer can chicken, wagyu skewers, and the list goes on!

If you are thinking of a stay-cation, this is your sign. Prince Waikiki is offering kama’aina rates from $219 per night.
