HONOLULU (HI Now) - Get ready, Hawaii, the 7Gen Hawaii Club Volleyball Championships 2026 is officially in full swing, and the energy is incredible! Some of the most talented young volleyball players from across the Hawaiian Islands have come together for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of competition, culture, and community.
Quarterfinals tipped off Thursday at the Hawaii Convention Center, where 32 teams, eight from each age division (12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U), are battling it out in a best-of-five format that really turns up the intensity. Three teams representing the Neighbor Islands have earned their place in the field, making this a true statewide celebration of volleyball. Ed Chun, Director of 7Gen Culture, called it an “exciting third year” for the championship, a well-deserved culmination of a full season of hard work and point-earning tournaments held throughout the state.
Saturday’s championship finals are heading to a spectacular new home: Windward Mall on Oahu’s beautiful windward side! Overnight Friday, organizers will transform the mall into a buzzing arena, complete with multiple courts and a center championship court, creating an atmosphere you won’t want to miss. Best of all, admission is completely free, and so is parking, so bring the whole family and come cheer on Hawaii’s best young athletes!
Want to catch the semifinals at the Convention Center first? Tickets are available online at 7genevents.com or at the venue. And if you can’t make it in person, tune in to Hawaii News Now (K5) for live broadcast coverage of the finals, no matter where you are in the islands, you can be part of the action!
The 7Gen Hawaii Club Volleyball Championships are a beautiful reminder of what sports can mean for a community. 7Gen Culture has partnered with the Nation of Hawaii, led by Uncle Bumpy and Brandon in Waimanalo, to offer visiting guests a truly authentic Hawaiian cultural experience, one rooted in aloha, respect for the land, and the spirit of the islands.
Deputy Director Sivan Leone and Ed Chun share a heartfelt mission: to make sure local communities are the ones who benefit most from sports tourism, while giving Hawaii’s young athletes the very best stage to shine. As Ed Chun put it so perfectly, “Windward Mall is like where everybody just comes to unite”, and this weekend, that’s exactly what will happen.
