Qing Mu: Experience the authentic flavors of Vietnam

Sponsored by Hawaii Gas

Be prepared to have your taste buds excited! Qing Mu is an intimate Vietnamese Noodle Bar located in Kaka’ako and created by restaurateur Kevin Aoki. Its mission is to bring the experience of an authentic Vietnamese Noodle shop to Honolulu. HI Now host Kanoe Gibson is in the kitchen with Jake Lee, the restaurant’s supervisor, to get a taste of some of its specialties.

Qing Mu is known for using high-quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods to achieve the authentic flavors of Vietnam. Some of its most popular dishes include Banh Mi sandwiches, Mekong Noodle, Oxtail Pho, Vermicelli Noodles with Lemongrass Chicken, and of course, its delicious Spring Rolls!

Lee says the broth is what sets Qing Mu apart from the rest. The restaurant boils the broth for 24 hours, which gives the dishes an authentic flavor. Qing Mu also offers Whiskey 101 classes in the evenings inside the restaurant, which are limited to four guests.

“We pair a variety of whiskeys with select Qing Mu dishes to show its perfect combination!” Lee adds.

Lee is one of Hawaii’s most sought out whiskey experts and is also the resident whiskey expert for Aoki Group restaurants. He leads several of these Whiskey 101 classes and whiskey themed events.

In addition to these daily whiskey classes, Qing Mu also has some weekly specials. On Mondays, enjoy whiskey and cigars, but later in the week, wine lovers, rejoice! Your day for specials is Wednesday.

So next time you’re craving noodles or you’re looking to try some authentic Vietnamese food, look no further than Qing Mu! You can give the restaurant a call to order take out at (808) 544-0005. Seating is limited inside the restaurant, but outdoor seating is also available.
