HONOLULU (HI Now) - The State of Hawaii Military and Community Relations Office, also known as MACRO, works to strengthen communication, mutual understanding, and collaboration between local residents and military leadership.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Laurie Moore, the office creates accessible spaces where community voices can be heard directly by key decision makers.

Residents looking to speak directly with service representatives and subject matter experts can attend an upcoming free Community Open House on Oahu. The event takes place on Wednesday, November 18, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Harry & Jeannette Weinberg Memorial Hall at Keʻehi Lagoon in Honolulu.

Designed as an informal, walk-in event rather than a formal presentation, attendees can arrive at any point to explore informative displays and engage in one on one discussions regarding land use, environmental stewardship, cultural resources, and community access.

Representatives scheduled to participate include Marine Corps Base Hawaii, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Navy Region Hawaii, the Army Natural Resources Program Oahu, and Pacific Air Forces.
