HONOLULU (HI Now) - Assets School is one of two schools in the nation and the only school in Hawaii being recognized as a Strategic Partner of the Slingerland Literacy Institute. The Slingerland Approach is a method of teaching reading and writing that engages several senses: visual (seeing), auditory (hearing), and doing (kinesthetic). This multisensory approach makes typical classroom instruction more accessible for students with dyslexia. Assets is the only school in Hawaii specializing in educating children who are gifted, dyslexic, or have other language-based learning differences.
Assets Parent Wayne Gardner shared how his son is thriving at Assets and is now able to read thanks to the highly trained teachers at Assets.
The status of a Strategic Partner recognizes Assets School’s decades of experience using an approach that supports dyslexia students.
Assets also launched a quiz to help families understand their child’s learning profile. Anyone can take the informational quiz by going to assets-school.org/transforming-lives-center/quiz-why-is-school-harder-than-it-should-be.
