HONOLULU (HI Now) - No one should ever have to walk the cancer journey alone.
For survivor Theresa Williams, being diagnosed with Stage 3C triple-negative breast cancer at age 38 without any family history proved that this disease does not discriminate.
Facing aggressive treatments in isolation during the pandemic revealed how critical community care and timely resources truly are for every patient. Today, with diagnoses rising among women under 50, local connection and early detection matter more than ever.
The community is rallying together to lift each other up and fund life-saving research at the annual Susan G. Komen Hawaii More Than Pink Walk. Taking place Sunday, October 11, at Kapiolani Park, the morning brings neighbors, families, and survivors together for an inspiring outdoor gathering.
Participants can kick off the day with a high-energy Zumba warmup at 7 a.m., gather at the bandstand for the opening ceremony at 8 a.m., and step out for the official walk at 9 a.m.
