HONOLULU (HI Now) - Connecting families and boosting local opportunities is at the heart of a major new partnership on the Big Island. Southwest Airlines is introducing direct flights from Hilo to Las Vegas three times per week, marking the first domestic flight service to the city since January 2023. To celebrate this long-term commitment to the community, Grand Naniloa Hotel is partnering with the airline to host a massive celebration for local residents.
Families can enjoy a day of free entertainment and activities at the Southwest Airlines Summer Fun Festival on Saturday, August 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features live performances by the legendary Kāpena Band, Halau Na Mamo O Ka Liko Maile O Kohala, and the CPS Band.
