HONOLULU (HI Now) - Hawaii News Now meteorologist Drew Davis is moving closer to his family after three incredible years of forecasting in the islands. Davis chose to relocate to be near his loved ones, especially after his mother successfully battled and beat breast cancer over the past year. This transition allows him and his wife to support their families in Texas and care for them in times of need.
During his time with Hawaii News Now Davis became a beloved part of the community. He originally joined the team shortly after graduating from Texas A&M University, where he received the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award. Davis quickly earned the trust of local viewers by covering severe weather, hurricanes, tsunami warnings, and many beautiful trade wind days. Over these short three years, he reconnected with his faith, married the love of his life, and built lifelong friendships across the state.
As the team looks back at some of his first moments on the show, the community celebrates his passion and dedication. Although he is trading the island trade winds for new opportunities closer to his Texas roots, his impact on local broadcasting remains unforgettable.
