HONOLULU (HI Now) - The demand for advanced nursing leaders has never been greater. Chaminade University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program empowers RNs and APRNs to elevate their clinical expertise, spearhead healthcare innovation, and improve health outcomes across Hawaiʻi and beyond. Designed specifically for working professionals, the DNP program is offered 100% online, with annual on-campus immersions, and combines rigorous evidence-based practice with immersive, hands-on clinical experiences.

As Hawaiʻi faces a critical and growing shortage of behavioral health providers, Chaminade is aggressively investing in the next generation of mental health professionals. Selected new students entering the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specialization may be eligible to receive a $32,500 stipend. Funded through a grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), this substantial financial support significantly lowers the cost of your doctoral education, allowing you to focus on delivering vital psychiatric care where it is needed most. Stipends are awarded on a competitive basis while federal funding remains available.
