HONOLULU (HI Now) - The seventh annual Hawaii Beer Fest is set to take over the Bishop Museum on June 27, promising a bigger and better event than ever. Ryan Conching, promoter from Kurious Productions, appeared on HI Now Daily to share details about the evening, which opens to VIP ticket holders at 5 p.m. and general admission at 6 p.m. Attendees can expect to sample from over 100 different craft beers and hard seltzers across 40 to 50 stations, enjoy local food vendors, and dance to live music all night long by artist Mike Izon and his band. Adult party games like Connect Four, Jenga, and Portuguese horseshoe round out the fun.
One of the most exciting additions this year comes from Kona Brewing Hawaii, which reclaimed its independence in 2020 after 30 years in business. VP of Sales and Marketing Katie Lefsrud introduced the brewery’s brand-new line of hard seltzers, launched in March, featuring three Hawaii-inspired flavors: Lychee Lemonade, Strawberry Shave Ice, and Passion Orange Guava (POG). Available statewide at Safeway, Foodland, and KTA on the Big Island, the POG flavor has already emerged as the fan favorite. Kona Brewing will be pouring samples at the event for anyone eager to try them.
Food lovers will have plenty to enjoy, with vendors chosen to complement the craft beverage experience. Aloha German Bakery, a family-owned business blending Hawaiian and German roots, will serve soft pretzels, cinnamon rolls with lemon icing, Black Forest brownies, goulash, and schnitzel sandwiches, all made with flour imported directly from Germany. Other vendors include Anastasia’s Pizza, poke bowls, poke nachos, and huli-huli chicken.

Organizers are emphasizing safety and community giving. Attendees can use Uber discount codes posted on the @HawaiiBeerFest Instagram, and Safe Ride Hawaii will be stationed outside the venue. A portion of proceeds benefits the Rotary Club of Honolulu. VIP tickets, which include early access, exclusive tastings, and swag, are still available, and fans can also enter to win two free VIP tickets via the HI Now Daily Instagram giveaway.
