The 5th annual luau is bringing volleyball, food, and fun to Kailua Hawai‘i’s largest grass volleyball event returns July 19th with free admission, food trucks, music, and 150+ teams at Kailua District Park.

HONOLULU (HI Now) - Community, competition, and culture come together at The 5th Annual Luau, Hawaii’s largest grass volleyball event. Hosted by 7GEN Culture, this free community celebration brings athletes, families, and fans to Kailua District Park for a full day of volleyball, music, food, and fun.

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., spectators can catch nonstop action as 150 to 200 teams take the field. Divisions include youth, recreational, college, professional, military, first responders, fellowship, industry, and open play. The Men’s and Women’s Open divisions will also compete for prize money.

The Luau is more than a tournament. It is the final major event of the volleyball season and a celebration of ohana, bringing people together through sports, culture, and meaningful connections. 7GEN Culture has helped bring nearly 10,000 off-island visitors to Hawaii through its events, creating opportunities for future generations while strengthening the local community.
