The Salvation Army Week celebrates generations of hope across Hawaii The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division marks 130-plus years of serving Hawaii with programs, camps and community support.

HONOLULU (HI Now) - National Salvation Army Week begins May 11, and this year The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division marks more than 130 years of serving communities across Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.

The mission has always been about lasting change — from addiction treatment and food assistance to case management programs like Pathway of Hope that help families break the cycle of generational poverty.

That commitment extends to the next generation through year-round music, arts, and after-school programs, and summer camp at Camp Homelani on Oʻahu’s North Shore. This year, summer camp programs run June 15 through July 27 for keiki and teens ages 7 to 17, with scholarships available. Register now at www.camphomelani.org.

The Salvation Army gives a big mahalo to the donors and volunteers who make it all possible — those who give their time, talent, and treasure year-round, and the community members who show up in both ordinary and extraordinary moments.
