HONOLULU (HI Now) - The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and the University of Hawaiʻi Federal Credit Union are teaming up for the eighth consecutive year to offer a local high school senior a full year of free tuition through the #TakeMeToManoa social media contest. Students compete by submitting a 60-second video explaining why UH Mānoa is the right college for them or how a year of free tuition would make a difference in their lives.
The contest is sponsored by UHFCU, a not-for-profit credit union founded in 1955 to serve the UH community. Last year’s winner, Maiya Sugimoto of Moanalua High School, was awarded free tuition for the Fall 2025 semester. Interested students can visit TakeMeToManoa.org to enter.
UHFCU is also offering a “SCORE100” promotion for new members who open an account, use their debit card and sign up for e-statements at UHFCU.com/score.
