Career Foundations curriculum offered to Maui wildfire survivors at Ka Laʻi Ola through state partnership A new state partnership brings Career Foundations workforce training to Maui wildfire survivors living at Ka Laʻi Ola temporary housing.

HONOLULU (HI Now) - Senator Donovan M. Dela Cruz has forged a partnership between the McKinley Community School for Adults and the Department of Human Services, collaborating to curate education and training programs focused on entrepreneurship and workforce development to help support the residents of Ka La‘i Ola.

Ka La‘i Ola is the temporary State housing solution for over 1,000 individuals who were impacted by the August 2023 Wildfires.

At the center of the partnership is Career Foundations, developed by McKinley Community School for Adults, which provides accessible training in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, professional development, and agriculture.

This inter-agency collaboration is critical for the rebuilding of the communities impacted by the August 2023 Wildfires, helping residents to live-work-learn-play in west Maui.
