HONOLULU (HI Now) - The Hawaiʻi Rise Foundation, in partnership with community sponsors across Hawaiʻi Island, has opened its 2026 Scholarship Program, offering more than $60,000 in financial support for Big Island students. Now in its 10th year, the program has grown from a single $1,000 scholarship donated by Keaukaha General Store in 2016 into one of the island’s largest community-driven scholarship initiatives.
Awards vary in amount and focus, with opportunities available for students entering college, trade or certificate programs, students overcoming adversity, young entrepreneurs, single parents, children with special needs, teachers, students affiliated with JROTC or the U.S. military, and applicants pursuing careers in music or the arts.
All Big Island high school seniors, current college students and nontraditional students are encouraged to apply. The application deadline was April 1, 2026, with award notifications scheduled for May 1, 2026.
