2026 Merrie Monarch Hawaiian Arts & Crafts Fair features locally made goods and cultural demos The 2026 Merrie Monarch Hawaiian Arts & Crafts Fair returns to Hilo April 8-11 with 150-plus artisans, cultural demos and free admission.

HONOLULU (HI Now) - The official Merrie Monarch Hawaiian Arts & Crafts Fair returns to Hilo from April 8 through April 11, 2026, at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium and Butler Buildings. The four-day event is free to attend and will feature more than 150 of Hawaiʻi’s most talented artisans showcasing locally made apparel, jewelry, food, photography, woodwork, natural skincare items and official Merrie Monarch merchandise. Daily performances by local hālau and hands-on cultural demonstrations, including paʻu drum making and kapa crafting, will also be offered. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Complimentary shuttle service, sponsored by Hawaiian Airlines, Big Island Candies and Waiākea Water, will be available Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., circulating between Hilo International Airport, Prince Kūhiō Plaza, Banyan Drive, Big Island Candies and the Hilo Civic Center.
