HONOLULU (HI Now) - Papa Ola Lōkahi is supporting a Hawaiian language livestream of the Merrie Monarch Festival. CEO Sheri Daniels said the organization provides administrative oversight for the Native Hawaiian Health Care Improvement Act and reaches communities through primary care, health education and promotion, traditional healing services and policy legislation. Daniels said studies show people connected to culture and language have better health outcomes, and the livestream allows children and families to experience the festival in Hawaiian language.
