HONOLULU (HI Now) - Hawaiʻi Pacific University is launching Hawaii’s first three-year bachelor’s degree program, offering students an accelerated path to earning an undergraduate degree. HPU President John Gotanda is set to discuss the program, which begins this year.
The program is designed to address the growing national debate around the traditional four-year degree model. HPU says the three-year option offers students a stronger return on investment, with reduced tuition costs and an earlier entry into the workforce.
The university describes the program as a distinct experience from a condensed traditional degree, with a different day-to-day structure for enrolled students. HPU says the program is open to students in Hawai’i and their families who are considering an alternative path to a bachelor’s degree.
