HONOLULU (HI Now) - YWCA O’ahu will honor Wendy Shewalter, president and CEO of Office Pavilion Hawai’i, at its 2026 LeaderLuncheon, the organization’s signature annual fundraiser held each year to recognize women’s leadership across the state.

LeaderLuncheon was established in 1977 as the first major event in Hawai’i dedicated to honoring the accomplishments and leadership of women. Over the past 49 years, the event has recognized more than 200 women from diverse fields who have made significant contributions to their professions and lasting impacts on their communities.

Shewalter joined Office Pavilion Hawai’i in 1988, working alongside her mother, Gerri Hayes, who founded the company in 1986. She became CEO in 2016. A graduate of Kalaheo High School, Shewalter earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Hawai’i.

Under her leadership, Office Pavilion Hawai’i has supported local nonprofits and community organizations, including YWCA O’ahu and Ho’ola Na Pua.

Founded in 1900, YWCA O’ahu is Hawai’i’s oldest women’s organization. The organization is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women and girls through economic advancement, leadership development, and safe housing.
