HONOLULU (HI Now) - Teach For America Hawaiʻi is celebrating its 20 Stories for 20 Years milestone by highlighting the powerful ripple effect great educators create across generations. In this segment, longtime educator Candice Frontiera reflects on her journey from classroom teacher to school and district leadership — and now as a public school parent — witnessing firsthand how strong teaching transforms lives and communities.
Frontiera shares the full-circle moment of welcoming back a former algebra student who returned from Harvard to speak to her class, as well as seeing former students become teachers and locally rooted leaders in Hawaiʻi. As part of TFA Hawaiʻi’s ongoing celebration of bright spots in public education, viewers are encouraged to support the future of teaching by applying to the 2026 Teach For America corps by March 9 or the Fall 2026 Ignite Fellowship by April 29.
