HONOLULU (HI Now) - Music, culture, and community come together as the Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra presents a vibrant lineup of performances celebrating Hawaiʻi’s artistry, Lunar New Year traditions, and the timeless stories of Shakespeare.
February 27 – HapaSymphony featuring Keauhou
The lineup begins with a special evening featuring beloved Hawaiian trio Keauhou, known for their rich harmonies and deep connection to Hawaiian mele and storytelling.Opening the night is local musician Keahi Delovio, setting the stage for a heartfelt celebration of homegrown talent and the power of live music.
February 28 – Lunar New Year 2026: Year of the Horse
The festivities continue the very next evening with a joyful Lunar New Year concert, beginning with a traditional pre-show lion dance.A special community partnership with Diamond Bakery will feature Lunar New Year treat boxes, with 100% of proceeds supporting the symphony.

Sounds of Shakespeare Festival | February 21 – March 22
This season’s artistic centerpiece explores how Shakespeare’s stories come alive through music, beginning with an opening Coffee Talk at the Downtown Art Center and continuing through three unforgettable concerts.
March 8 – Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

In collaboration with Manoa Valley Theatre, this whimsical, family-friendly excerpt performance captures the magic, humor, and wonder of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy.
March 19 – Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet
The drama deepens with Prokofiev’s powerful interpretation of the tragic love story, featuring acclaimed violinist Stella Chen.
March 22 – Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet
The festival concludes with a grand collaboration featuring Ballet Hawaii and virtuoso pianist George Li, blending orchestra, dance, and storytelling into one breathtaking finale.
