HONOLULU (HI Now) - SHIZUE — a ukulele virtuosa, singer, DJ, and producer — joins us to talk about her newest creative milestone. Representing a fresh wave of innovation rooted in Hawai‘i, she’s introducing the world to UKE EDM, a genre-bending fusion that elevates the ukulele into modern electronic music.

With her new music video out now for her single “MR. MISSED HER,” SHIZUE shares the inspiration behind the visual short film and offers viewers a first look into the emotional, cinematic world surrounding the track. The full single will release early next year on all major streaming platforms, and the short film offers fans a sneak peek into what UKE EDM is all about.

SHIZUE also opens up about her mission to create music that honors her roots while inspiring others to heal, grow, and express themselves creatively. She’s currently building toward her upcoming debut EP — a four-track, genre-fluid project where each song is paired with its own short film to visually and emotionally deepen the story.
