HONOLULU (HI Now) - The Hawaiian Humane Society warns pet owners about Thanksgiving hazards—toxic foods (chocolate, grapes, xylitol), turkey bones, and the increased risk of pets slipping out with guests coming and going—and recommends microchipping, creating a quiet space for anxious pets, and keeping harmful foods out of reach.

Thanks to Domino’s Hawaiʻi, the 2nd Annual Thankful Fur a Home Adoption Special will waive adoption fees for all adoptable pets at Hawaiian Humane locations, Kosasa Family Campus at Hoʻopili, and select PETCOs from November 28–30.

Donations, fostering, volunteering, and sharing the event also helps address the ongoing shelter capacity crisis. Find adoptable pets, safety tips, and event details at HawaiianHumane.org and follow @HawaiianHumane.
