HONOLULU (HI Now) - Queens’ Marketplace is buzzing with new openings—bringing fresh dining, shopping, and locally rooted brands to Waikoloa Beach Resort.
Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar:
Eat, Sip, ShopManager Travis Matsuoka and team blend a relaxed island restaurant with a stylish retail store. Browse men’s, women’s, and home collections—plus a full swimwear area and a Hawai‘i‑exclusive shirt—then settle in for flavors that lean local. The menu sources produce from Hirayama Farms in Waimea and features favorites like coconut shrimp with mango‑papaya chutney, garlic noodles with shrimp, and miso kampachi with furikake rice. Save room for dessert: a pineapple upside‑down “croffle.” Sip classics and mocktails—the margarita lineup, Coconut Cloud, and a frozen Mai Tai—amid indoor–outdoor vibes, live music from 4–8, and happy hour daily from 3–5. Open 11–9 most days, with Saturday hours to 10 pm.
Koa Wood Ranch:
Local Craft, Conservation RootsJust a short walk from the Marlin Bar, Koa Wood Ranch opened in September. More than a retail concept, it’s tied to a real Big Island ranch on the Hāmākua Coast near Hilo. A portion of in‑store sales supports native wood forest conservation. Shop locally made gifts and home goods (many hand‑turned at the ranch), custom koa jewelry and sunglasses, keiki apparel, and aloha shirts—from in‑house Aloha Coastal to vibrant designs by David Shepherd. Koa Wood Ranch now spans four locations (The Drive and Queens’ Shops on Hawai‘i Island, plus Ala Moana and Waikīkī) with a Maui location planned for November.
