Rope for Wishes Rodeo honors the Legacy of Wish Kid Taiyo

Rope for Wishes Rodeo Honors the Legacy of Wish Kid Taiyo Rope for Wishes Rodeo returns to Kualoa Ranch on October 18–19 with action-packed family fun benefiting Make-A-Wish Hawaii!

HONOLULU (HI Now) - The 8th annual Rope for Wishes Rodeo, hosted by Lazy L Ranch, returns to Kualoa Ranch on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19.

It’s going to be an action-packed weekend filled with rodeo excitement, family fun, and community spirit, all to benefit Make-A-Wish Hawaii.

The Rope for Wishes Rodeo generously supports Make-A-Wish Hawaii through the Wishes Forever Endowment Fund, established in memory of 19-year-old Kaneohe wish kid Taiyo. Taiyo’s dream was to start a heavy equipment rental business and make a difference in the lives of other kids. His wish for a hydraulic dump trailer was a pivotal step toward his goals. Sadly, Taiyo lost his battle with cancer, but his spirit of giving endures. His parents sold the trailer and donated the proceeds to Make-A-Wish Hawaii. Inspired by their generosity, Debbie Bacon and Glenn Furuya of Leadership Works also contributed, leading to the creation of the Wishes Forever Endowment Fund. The Wishes Forever Endowment Fund will make life-changing wishes possible for Hawaii keiki for years to come.

The pre-rodeo qualifications from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 18 is free and open to the public, with tickets reserved online in advance. The Buck-For-Wishes Showdown on Saturday evening and the rodeo performance on Sunday are $35 each, and folks can get tickets at tinyurl.com/rope-for-wishes. Tickets are limited and will be available online only; no sales at the gate. Once full capacity is reached, entry will not be allowed.
