Central Pacific Bank launches debit card campaign giving away a new Toyota 4Runner CPB’s Go Contactless campaign: tap to pay for daily purchases to enter for a 2025 Toyota 4Runner, plus weekly prizes; grand event Dec 4.

HONOLULU (HI Now) - Central Pacific Bank (CPB) has launched its exciting “Go Contactless!” campaign, encouraging customers to embrace the speed, convenience, and security of contactless debit card payments for their daily shopping. The campaign aims to modernize the payment experience for CPB’s customers and is adding a significant incentive: the chance to win a brand new car and other fantastic prizes.

The grand prize is a new 2025 Toyota 4Runner valued at more than $43,000. Throughout the campaign, CPB is also awarding weekly prizes, including cash, gift cards, and even the highly popular Labubu dolls.

How to Enter:

  • Automatic Entry: Every eligible point-of-sale transaction made with a CPB debit card automatically serves as an entry into the contest. Simply using your CPB debit card for everyday purchases at places like the grocery store, a restaurant, or a gas station will enter you for a chance to win.
  • Grand Prize Event: The campaign will culminate in a grand prize event on December 4. Fifty finalists will be selected for a chance to win the 4Runner, and every finalist is guaranteed to walk away with a prize.

Beyond the chance to win a 4Runner, there are everyday advantages of using contactless payments.

“The main benefits are convenience and speed,” said Tim Calton, Revenue and Debit Card Manager, Central Pacific Bank. “You’ll notice a much faster checkout time—you just tap your card and you’re on your way.”

Security at Your Fingertips

For customers hesitant about adopting the new technology, CPB stressed the enhanced security features of the contactless cards.

“The contactless technology uses an embedded chip that generates a unique, encrypted code for each transaction,” Calton explained. This method is significantly more secure than the traditional magnetic stripe.

Security features include:

  • Proximity: The card must be held within a few inches of the payment terminal to be read.
  • One-Time Charge: The system is designed to prevent accidental double-billing; if you accidentally tap twice, you will only be charged once.
  • Zero Liability: CPB debit cards are protected by Mastercard’s Zero Liability protection, meaning customers are not responsible for unauthorized purchases.

To ensure participation and a chance to win, CPB encourages customers to simply start using their CPB debit card today through November 23, 2025. If you need a contactless card, you can easily get one at any CPB branch or online at cpb.bank.
