HONOLULU (HI Now) - On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Hawai‘i Baptist Academy will host the Grand Opening of the Hugh and Mary McCormick Innovation & Discovery Center at the Richard Bento Elementary Campus. The public is invited to attend and take tours of the new facility between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
The 7,000-square-foot facility is part of HBA’s Campaign for Transformation, an initiative to create learning environments that inspire innovation, deepen faith, and prepare students to lead with purpose.
Named in honor of HBA’s founders, Hugh and Mary McCormick, the center continues the bold vision they began more than 75 years ago. Inside, the facility includes:
- Innovation Station - where ideas come to life through hands-on experiments, robotics, and problem-solving.
- Collab Lab - a hub for research, group projects, and collaborative learning.
- Learning Commons - a reimagined library with inviting reading spaces that spark imagination.
The Innovation & Discovery Center reflects HBA’s ongoing commitment to help students discover their God-given potential and prepare for lives of service and leadership.
