Register for the 2025 Hawai’i Heart Walk Join the 2025 Hawai‘i Heart Walk on Aug 9 at Kapiʻolani Park—walk, learn CPR, and help build a healthier, heart-safe Hawai‘i for all.

HONOLULU (HI Now) - The American Heart Association Hawai‘i invites you to take part in the 2025 Hawai‘i Heart Walk, happening Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Kapiʻolani Park. This annual event is more than just a walk—it’s a community celebration of health, hope, and lifesaving education. With the program beginning at 7:00 AM and the walk starting at 7:30 AM, participants can choose between a 4.5-mile route or a 1-mile survivors route. The Heart Walk brings together families, survivors, advocates, and supporters from across the islands, creating a powerful moment of unity and purpose.

One of the key highlights of this year’s Heart Walk is the opportunity to learn Hands-Only CPR for free. With more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occurring outside of hospitals in the U.S. each year—and 70% of them happening at home—this simple skill has the power to save lives. When performed immediately, Hands-Only CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival. Even children as young as nine can learn it. The American Heart Association is building a Nation of Lifesavers, aiming to double cardiac arrest survival rates by 2030. A quick, 90-second video at heart.org/handsonlycpr can help you get started.

The Heart Walk also serves as a reminder that staying active is key to heart and brain health. Whether you’re walking in memory of a loved one, supporting a survivor, or looking to improve your own wellness, the event encourages everyone to move with purpose. Participants can also look forward to live music, wellness booths, survivor celebrations, and a supportive atmosphere that reflects the spirit of Hawai‘i.

Registration is free and open to all. Visit www.hiheartwalk.org to sign up, create or join a team, and invite friends and family to walk alongside you. You can also follow the American Heart Association Hawai‘i on Facebook and Instagram @HeartHawaii for updates, resources, and event information. By participating in the Heart Walk, you’re not only promoting your own health—you’re helping to create a healthier, more heart-safe Hawai‘i for everyone.
