HONOLULU (HI Now) - The Henry Kapono Foundation continues its mission to empower and uplift Hawai‘i’s music community with a spotlight on DUVA—an emerging artist blazing her own trail in the local music scene.
At just six years old, DUVA fell in love with music. She began as a lead guitarist in various groups, and today, she’s carving out her solo career as both a singer and producer. As a two-time HKF On the Rise Artist, DUVA credits the Foundation’s Master Classes with helping her grow—not only as a performer but also in navigating the business side of the industry.
Now, DUVA is preparing to release two original singles: “Fever” drops on August 29, followed by “Rendezvous” later this fall. Fans will get a special preview of her new music at two upcoming HKF On the Rise showcases:
- Thursday, July 31 at Duke’s Waikīkī from 7–9:30pm
- Tuesday, August 5 at Kani Ka Pila Grille from 5–7pm
These performances are part of the HKF Summer Fest Concert Series, which runs through August and features over 100 live performances across the state. The series celebrates Hawai‘i’s musical heritage while spotlighting a new generation of talent.
