HONOLULU (HI Now) - Aloha Laser Vision has become the first eye care center in Hawaii—and one of only six in the U.S.—to offer the new Alcon WaveLight PLUS LASIK technology. The state-of-the-art laser system is now available at the practice’s newly completed surgical suite, led by board-certified ophthalmologist Dr. Alan Faulkner.
The WaveLight PLUS platform uses advanced 3-D ray-tracing technology to create a digital “twin” of each eye, enabling customized LASIK treatments that aim to deliver better-than-20/20 vision. Unlike traditional systems, it captures data from wavefront mapping, corneal tomography, and ocular biometry to optimize precision and reduce post-op issues like glare and halos.
“This takes LASIK to a new level of personalization,” said Dr. Faulkner. “We’re proud to be the first in Hawaii to offer it—all in a setting designed to give patients the most advanced care under one roof.”
The in-house surgical suite allows Aloha Laser Vision to handle pre-op diagnostics, surgery, and post-op care in one location, enhancing safety and patient experience.
Aloha Laser Vision has served Honolulu for over 20 years and is known for pioneering vision correction and offering leading-edge ophthalmic and aesthetic treatments.
