HONOLULU (HI Now) - ʻAha Hoʻolōkahi 2025 is the Native Hawaiian Health & Well‑Being Summit, hosted by Papa Ola Lōkahi at the Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu from July 23–24, 2026. Its name, meaning a gathering or synchronization, reflects the purpose: weaving a lei of mauli ola (vitality) that unites pua, community members, kūpuna, students, health practitioners, and researchers—from all the Hawaiian islands The in-person summit aims to amplify both traditional and emerging knowledge, fostering resilient community networks and supporting collective healing and well‑being.

‘Aha Ho‘olōkahi 2025 ~ Native Hawaiian Health & Well-Being Summit - Part 2 Aha Hoolokahi 2025 aims to weave a lei of mauli ola, bringing together pua from all islands, diverse experiences, expertise and walks of life.

The summit’s programming features an immersive mix of cultural, scholarly, and health-focused sessions. Highlights include closed sessions such as “Casting our net as Health Professionals,” which center on identity, kuleana, and cultural arts like weaving kaula (cordage) and playing the ipu (traditional percussion). Other panels show leaders engaged in “Creating Communities Where We Stand” and “Leadership Conversations,” including insights from Fulbright fellow Dr. Evan Adams on Hawaiian leadership models. A business-health crossover session, “Increasing Economic Prosperity Among Kānaka ʻŌiwi Through Health,” spotlights kānaka entrepreneur-health providers sharing their journeys.

Organized by a dedicated team including leaders in communication, archives, and health and supported by Papa Ola Lōkahi’s Island-based health initiatives, the summit underscores the vital blend of cultural identity and health innovation. ʻAha Hoʻolōkahi holds space to celebrate lāhui, address health equity, and nurture collective wellness, truly weaving a stronger ʻōiwi future.
