Free pre-show event ahead of 48th Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards Free music, workshops and local markets lead up to Saturday’s 48th Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards—celebrate Hawaiʻi’s music scene in Waikīkī!

HONOLULU (HI Now) - Hawaii News Now is getting ready for a big weekend as we count down to the 48th Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards.

On Friday night, the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts (HARA) is hosting a free pre-show event at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. Enjoy live music by Kahiau Lam Ho at the Kani Ka Pila Grille from 7 PM to 9 PM.

That same afternoon, free music workshops will be held at the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort. There will be two sessions available—just scan the QR code on your screen to register and join in.

Throughout the weekend, be sure to check out the Pualu Hawaii Makeke, a local vendor market open to the public. You can shop on Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM, and again on Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM.

And finally, Saturday is the main event—the 48th Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards! We’ll bring you live coverage starting at 7 PM on all Hawaii News Now platforms. Join us early at 5:30 PM for a livestreamed pre-show. Then, Rachel and Billy V will take you on a journey through the evening as we celebrate the best in Hawai‘i’s music industry.
