AIEA (HI Now) - Recently, Pearl at Kalauao completed a full renovation of its golf course, transforming it into a premier playing experience for both casual and competitive golfers. “We’ve rebuilt all 20 green complexes with Platinum TE Paspalum grass,” says General Manager Ed Kageyama. “It’s faster, smoother, and better than ever.” Along with upgraded irrigation and refreshed fairways, the course now offers pristine conditions with breathtaking views of Pearl Harbor and the Waiʻanae mountains.
To complement the main course, Pearl at Kalauao has introduced Nā Momi ʻEkolu, a new 3-hole pitch & putt course that’s perfect for quick games, sharpening your short game, or introducing new players to golf in a fun, family-friendly way. “Whether you’re here for serious play or just looking for a relaxing round, the experience has been completely elevated,” adds Head Golf Professional Cyd Okino.
Golf isn’t the only thing drawing guests to Pearl at Kalauao. The on-site restaurant has undergone a complete transformation, featuring a modern, open-air dining space with panoramic views and a menu rooted in local flavor. “We wanted a restaurant that feels like Hawai’i—fresh, comfortable, and filled with flavor,” says Food & Beverage Manager Roger Mina. With ingredients sourced from local farms like Sumida Watercress and meats from Honolulu Meat Company, the kitchen delivers elevated takes on island favorites. Regular specials such as Hawaiian Food Fridays, seasonal brunch events, and a weekday Happy Hour from 3–6 PM keep things exciting. And best of all, the restaurant is open to everyone—golfers and non-golfers alike.
Pearl at Kalauao also shines as an events venue, offering six flexible, fully renovated spaces for celebrations of all sizes. From weddings and baby showers to business meetings and birthdays, the team—led by Banquet Coordinator Trina Aragon and Assistant General Manager Mandy Dona—offers full-service planning, AV support, and customizable catering. The largest space, the Pearl Room, can host up to 320 guests with sweeping views of the course and harbor.
For something a little more festive, locals and visitors alike flock to the monthly Last Wednesdays Night Market, a free community event featuring over 60 vendors, food trucks, live music, and shopping.
