HONOLULU (HI Now) - The original Sushi Bowl was created by founder Aaron Kimora in 2012, first served in flower-shaped shave ice cones at street festivals and farmers markets across Hawai’i. What began as a fun to-go sushi concept has evolved into Aloha Cones’ signature dish: a high-quality, deconstructed sushi roll served in a bowl.
What makes it sushi? The rice. Every bowl starts with authentic sushi rice—the foundation of true sushi. While we offer poke-style ahi as a flavor option, Aloha Cones does not serve “poke bowls.” This is sushi, reimagined—fresh, flavorful, and uniquely ours.
