HONOLULU (HI Now) - At Life Care Center of Hilo, Hale Anuenue, and Life Care Center of Kona, we are committed to providing skilled nursing and long-term care services with the dignity and aloha our kupuna deserve.

Our skilled nursing services support individuals recovering from falls, surgeries, illnesses, or injuries. Each of our facilities proudly offers in-house physical, occupational, and speech therapy—a rare and valuable resource in our rural communities.

For those who can no longer live independently, our long-term care programs focus on daily living needs such as dressing, bathing, and eating, all within a safe, home-like environment.

Life Care Center of Hilo is home to Hawai’i’s only secured dementia care unit, meeting the rising need for specialized care as our population ages—1 in 10 people aged 65+ are affected by dementia.

We also have physicians on-site at each facility, working collaboratively to ensure continuous care. To strengthen our future workforce, we’re launching a physician residency program and investing in growing our own healthcare professionals.

We’re especially proud of our efforts to support local talent:

  • CNA Scholarship Program: We cover tuition, books, and testing fees, making it easier for passionate individuals to start their careers in caregiving. Testing is now available locally in Hilo.
  • CNA to LPN Bridge Program: In partnership with the Healthcare Association of Hawai’i, 8 of our team members are on track to become LPNs in under two years—all while gaining hands-on experience.

Together, we’re not just providing care—we’re building a brighter, more compassionate future for our island community.
