HONOLULU (HI Now) - Join Waiwaolani at the Kakoʻo Market at Sangha Hall in Hilo from Thursday, April 24 to Saturday, April 26 during this year’s Merrie Monarch Festival. Discover new designs, including the ʻAʻliʻi print created by Keanu Wilson of Prowlanu. This unique surface pattern took over a year to complete, inspired by the resilience and perseverance of Hawai’i’s people, particularly the communities of Kula and Lahaina.

This year, Waiwaolani is also excited to offer its first-ever scholarship to raise awareness about native Hawaiian plants. The scholarship aims to engage and inspire students to learn more about Hawai’i’s native flora. The recipients will be chosen by the end of April, with a special congratulations to those who are dedicated to preserving and understanding the beauty of Hawaii’s native plants.
