HONOLULU (HI Now) - Kona Brewing Hawai’i debuts its first new beers since returning to independent ownership with the release of Māhea Haze Hazy IPA and Pili Pilsner, available starting April 11. Inspired by Hawai’i’s natural beauty and community spirit, these brews mark a new era of innovation rooted in local culture.
Māhea Haze, named after the soft glow of the full moon (“māhealani”), is a smooth, hop-forward hazy IPA with a luminous appearance and 6% ABV—perfect for those who enjoy hops without the bitterness.
Pili Pilsner, named after the Hawaiian word for connection and the native pili grass, is a crisp, citrusy lager with a light herbal finish and 5.2% ABV—ideal for warm days and beachside hangs.
Crafted with creativity and care, both beers embody Kona Brewing’s dedication to local ingredients, bold flavors, and the essence of Hawai’i. Find them in six-packs or on tap statewide, including Kona’s pubs in Kailua-Kona and Hawai’i Kai. More limited-edition seasonal brews are on the horizon.
