Loan capital for small business owners, like Malama Mushroom, is available to eligible Hawaii small business owners through a partnership between Feed the Hunger Fund and the Hawaii Green Infrastructure Authority’s HI-CAP CDFI Loan Program.

Feed the Hunger’s mission is to provide entrepreneurs with access to capital, technical assistance and networks that help increase their income and build assets. The organization aims to create healthy, equitable and sustainable food systems that nourish everyone.

Hawaii Green Infrastructure Authority (HGIA), widely known for solar financing, expanded its impact in 2022, by launching the HI-CAP CDFI Loan Program. The program is federally funded by the U.S. Treasury.

Through HI-CAP, HGIA partners with participating Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) —like Feed the Hunger Fund— to provide low-cost loan capital to eligible Hawaii small businesses, start-ups, and entrepreneurs.
