HONOLULU (HI Now) - Mahina Farms began as a dream for Bob and Tamara in Haʻikū, where they first cultivated lauaʻe ferns for landscaping. After moving to ʻĪao Valley, their passion for Hawaiian culture deepened, leading to the farm’s evolution. With the Wailuku River running through their land, they envisioned cultural gardens, Polynesian food crops, and spaces for traditional and innovative practices. Their goal is to create a refuge for practitioners, a place to grow food for their ʻohana, and a hub for learning about Hawaiian culture, food, and wisdom. Today, they are bringing that vision to life.
